Here's some of my family I found in my grandma's photo boxes my dad put in our shed. This one is my Grandma and Grandfather and all my aunties and uncles saying goodbye to Wales before heading off on their trip to Australia. My mother isn't there, because she's the youngest and was born here in Australia. ( +3 more )

My parents split up when I was 5 years old. I knew my father, though, and we got together sporadically over the years. He was born in 1900 (he was 20 years older than my mother) and passed away just before his 90th birthday. After he died I was given some of his photo albums. There are lots of photos of me, and of my relatives, but there are many more strangers. I would imagine that most of these photos were taken in New England, USA. ( three more )

This one was stuck in a book I bought at a thrift store. And this one was on the ground at the bus stop.

We were looking through old photo albums and found this one of my uncle who passed away a couple of years back.

Colbert, Fey and Carell push TV and more to new heights They've since moved on to the first and former third cities, but finding The Second City in the work of Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey and Steve Carell isn't difficult. These 1990s alums from Chicago's famous sketch troupe are pushing television comedy in this decade toward becoming a looser, more improvisational art form, but also one that places a premium, like their Second City training ground, on working at material until finely honed. ( Like Anyone Would Want to 'R' Them )

In the beginning of an interview George Michael did with The Guardian, the interviewer writes about how these German girls waited for hours outside of his house to get his autograph. Well, the German girls should've disguised themselves as hairy leather daddies and hung out at Hampstead Heath. It only would've taken a few minutes for George Michael to show up to autograph their faces with the ink from his peen. That's because George just loves huntin' for park dick at Hampstead Heath when the weather is warm enough to keep his butt cheeks toasty. ( More of this riveting tale behind the cut. )( Read more... )

Roman Polanski began his house arrest in a luxury resort in Gstaad. He arrived in a police convoy to a warm welcome from his wife Emmanuelle Seigner and children Morgane and Elvis at his Alpine chalet. His lawyer Georges Kiejman was also there. The family then enjoys the scenery of the town by ice skating, shopping, and walking around town. SourceThere are also pictures of his son coming and going from the house and I don't really want to post them. The kid has no fault in this situation and it sucks the paparazzi is following him (and his mother) around town, plus he's only nine. Polanski also has a 16 year old daughter.

I love a diva. So when I saw that Fuse was doing a special titled Top 20 Divas earlier this evening at 6 p.m., I immediately set my DVR to record. Truly, I had no idea what I was getting into: Would this be a video countdown with commentary? A VH1-style special that features talking heads—and sometimes the divas themselves—discussing what makes these Top 20 divas so damned special? A mix of the two?
Well, come to find out, it was just literally 20 videos from divas. But, honestly, it was one of the weirdest countdowns I’ve ever seen. To start with, let’s take a look at the show’s Top 20:

HARTFORD -- The birthplace of Connecticut state government will be thrust onto the national stage next Wednesday when the SyFy Network's top-rated "Ghost Hunters" premieres its paranormal investigation of Connecticut's Old State House. The program's investigators visited the building in early October, and their examination of Connecticut's original state capitol makes its world premiere on Dec. 9 at 9 p.m. While the outcome of the investigation remains a closely-guarded secret, stories of "ghostly" phenomena at the Old State House have abounded for years. So much so, that the Ghost Hunters production team contacted the museum more than nine months ago in hopes of conducting an investigation. "The cast and crew were great to work with," said Bill Bevacqua, director of communications for Connecticut's Old State House. "They truly appreciated the history of the building and showed great concern for trying to dispel myths and rumors with their investigation while searching for actual evidence of the paranormal." Regardless of what's revealed on the show, the Old State House staff looks forward to the building receiving national attention. "Ghost stories and places of great historical significance tend to go hand-in-hand," said Bevacqua. "Fundamentally, history was made many times over during the years that the Old State House was a functioning seat of government, and the weight of that history is palpable as soon as you walk through the door." Located in Hartford, Connecticut's Old State House served as the Constitution State's original seat of government from 1796 to 1878. The museum and gift shop are open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, visit www.ctoldstatehouse.org. source

Open Casting Call: Love Don’t Let Me Down
If you’ve ever dreamed of sharing the big screen with a major movie star, you could get your chance right here in Music City. Shooting will start in January for Love Don’t Let Me Down, a new movie starring Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow,Tim McGraw, Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester and young actor Garrett Hedlund (Georgia Rule, Four Brothers). The movie will be shot in and around Nashville, and casting directors are looking for extras. Written and directed by Shana Feste, the movie is about a down-on-her-luck country singer (Paltrow) who meets a young, up-and-coming songwriter (Hedlund), and the two attempt to revive her career, with the help of her husband and manager (McGraw) and a beauty queen turned singer (Meester). Of course, a slew of Music Row woes and affairs of the heart slow down their progress. There will be an open casting call from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Dec. 12 at the Musician’s Hall of Fame (301 Sixth Ave. S.). They’re looking for female and male actors of all ages in non-speaking roles, as well as guitarists, fiddlers, drummers, bass players and steel guitarists. No acting experience is necessary, but a recent snapshot is (at least 4-by-6 inches) and a pen. The photo is non-returnable, and without one you will not be considered.
ngl, i wish i lived close enough to go for this, if only to get the chance to be close to the hot piece of manmeat that is Garrett Hedlund. This movie sounds decent at best, but it's an opportunity for some of you talented ONTD-ers out there!

Coming off the high of his two Grammy nominations, Drake spread holiday cheer at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza in Los Angeles on Saturday (Dec. 5). The first 100 people who donated an unwrapped toy received an autograph from the down-to-earth star, who posed for photos and personally greeted each fan. Five lucky raffle winners got a private meet-n-greet with the “Best I Ever Had” rapper, and one overly excited fan even had to be restrained by security. Drizzy shared the experience with Rap-Up.com. “I just like being able to shake people’s hands and look in their eyes and hopefully make their day,” he said. “If I can sign something and take a picture and they walk away being like, ‘Yo, he’s a good dude and I had a good day,’ that’s all that matters to me. To make someone’s day is the best feeling in the world.” ( beauty.sexy.blewish.handsome.etc )drake says who he's taking to the grammy'ssrcty for being blessed w/ his beauty. leave your thoughts xoxo

Legal threat from the Queen on paparazzi royal photos
(i just thought this pic was cool tbh) The Queen has warned newspapers they face legal action if they publish paparazzi photos of the Royal Family. Until now senior royals had accepted that photographs could be taken of them if they were shot from public places. But both Buckingham Palace and Clarence House now say they will refuse to tolerate photographers capturing any pictures of the Royal Family in 'private' situations. ( OFF WITH THEIR HEADS etc etc ) Kate Middleton to do charity work... "just like Princess Diana" (its the daily mail) Kate Middleton is planning a Christmas warm-up for what Palace insiders are calling a ‘Princess-in-waiting role’ next year. The Middleton camp hopes the move – which will involve an increasing number of charity appearances as well as duties alongside Prince William – will help endear Kate to the British people. ( how dare her ) Army rules out Prince Harry ever returning to Afghanistan

Prince Harry's dream of returning to the frontline in Afghanistan appears all but over, according to reports.
Top military officers in the British Army have said that a future posting is now "virtually impossible" due to the extent of the Taliban's infiltration of Afghan police, which would make it impossible to keep the prince's identity a secret.
